Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA) can happen to anyone, at any age, at any time, without warning. In Canada, up to 45,000 people die from SCA each year. Every minute that a cardiac arrest patient goes untreated, the chance of survival decreases by 10%. Early defibrillation, along with good-quality CPR, is the only possible chance a victim of SCA has of survival.
