My Intentional Success blog last week spoke to the value of life and business coaching and having a better life, personally and professionally.  I am going to speak in this week’s Intentional Success about something that is a little off-course but no less important. The reason I am doing this is that Wiegers Financial & Benefits just started Grillin’ for Gratitude for our second summer during Street Stall Saturdays at 120 Sonnenschein Way in Saskatoon, and I think it’s important to share more about it.

Grillin’ for Gratitude is a turnkey barbecue fundraiser that promotes a different charity each summer Saturday between May 22nd and September 11th from 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.  It’s a simple but very effective concept: each spring, charities sign up to be the featured charity one week that summer.  When it’s their turn, they show up with several volunteers to a stocked and ready-to-use barbecue tent where they cook and sell hamburgers and hot dogs to Street Stall Saturday visitors, with all money raised going to that charity.  Wiegers Financial & Benefits also sends at least one representative to lend support and help out.  It’s a great initiative that helps incredible charities do incredible things.

This is a chance for those of you who want to help make a difference to do exactly that but in addition, for those of you who might be looking to provide some service to a philanthropic endeavour, this is your chance. You can get out to meet a charity, find out about it, and possibly decide to support it. Most of these charities are in dire need of funding, and many of them need volunteers.  It is a wonderful opportunity for you to help out financially and/or personally with your time.

I believe we are put on this earth to help serve our fellow mankind. It’s been proven that those who serve receive far more than they give back just in terms of the impact to their well-being alone.  As an added bonus, you can also get tax deductible donation receipts for CRA purposes.

At Wiegers Financial & Benefits, we want to help make a difference in the communities we serve. We also want to help our clients, friends and relatives have an opportunity to serve. I’ve listed below the various charities that will be featured this summer at Grillin’ for Gratitude.  We hope to see you out there!  I personally would appreciate it if you would share this blog with others who might be interested in helping make a difference financially and/or providing their service to one of these charitable organizations:
