Colton Wiegers

CFA, B.Comm.

CEO, Wiegers Financial and Insurance Planning Services Ltd.

Colton graduated with a Finance degree from the Edwards School of Business in 2015 but his experience in money and business started at a young age when, after a garage sale, he made the decision to start selling pop and cookies at school.  While attending the University of Saskatchewan, Colton and a friend launched and managed Bow Home Services.  The company started in painting and home maintenance but later evolved into full renovations for property managers and painting for new construction and home builders.  At the company’s peak, it had a team of more than 20 people and was a finalist for the NSBA’s Young Promising Entrepreneur Award.

Colton made the move to Wiegers Financial & Benefits in June 2016 after gaining some experience on his own. He wanted to shift from the transactional business style of trades into a more relationship based career. He recently completed his third and final Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) exam and is in the process of finalizing his designation. He believes firmly in the importance of giving back and in getting involved in impactful ways.  He is currently on the executive committee of the Board of Directors for the Greater Saskatoon Chamber of Commerce, and has been a mentor with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Saskatoon and Area for more than six years, where he was named Volunteer of the Year in 2018.

Colton loves the outdoors, living close to the Northeast Swale where he and his wife Ally, who got married in 2021, go for walks and bike rides with their dog Koda. He likes to keep active with sports, and plays soccer, volleyball, and slo-pitch throughout the year. In recent years, he has become an avid NFL fan and has committed to attending as many NFL and other professional level games as possible.  Unfortunately, his attendance has an unbeaten record of hurting the home team at games he attends; home teams currently have a losing streak of 0 – 7 when Colton is in the stands watching.  We’ll keep you posted on the next game he attends so you can place bets!
